Denzo Settings

STRATEGY will reconstruct a crystal orientation matrix from the cell parameters and the crystal orientation taken from the x-file. The actual crystal orientation matrix is a product of four rotation matrices (three around the laboratory axes: , and , and one around the spindle axis: ) and the standard orientation matrix . The standard orientation is influenced by the two DENZO commands spindle axis and vertical axis. Only six different combinations of different spindle axis and vertical axis are supported (see also section limitations); these are given below.

The crystal orientation matrices , and and the spindle matrix are functions of the DENZO parameters crystal rotx roty rotz and oscillation start . They are expressed in the STRATEGY laboratory axes:
